The association is committed to a collegiate presidency model
Arrate Illaro, Beñat Gaztelumendi, Eneritz Zabaleta, Igor Elortza, Josu Goikoetxea, Maialen Lujanbio, Miren Artetxe and Xabi Igoa will be, from now on, the members of the group who will continue the work carried out to date by the President Iñaki Murua and the Secretary Xabier Gaztelumendi. This group will join the current Board of Directors of Euskal Herriko Bertsozale Elkartea.
International improvisators tour, from the 9th to the 14th of October
The tour "Nazioarteko Inprobisatzaileen Bira" will visit Pamplona, Erandio, Hernani, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Baiona and Donostia-San Sebastian. Cuban and Argentinian improvisators Tomasita Quiala and Araceli Argüello will perform on stage along with the bertsolaris Amets Arzallus, Jone Uria, Julio Soto, Maialen Lujanbio and Xabi Igoa.

Bertsolaritza takes a hit in 2020, with 700 shows less
Compared to previous year’s figures, six out of ten bertso performances have not been carried out and that means an economic loss of around 735,000 euros. The association Bertsozale Elkartea wants to highlight the work of the bertso-eskolas and local event planners for their support in such a difficult year.
Three bertsolari championships will be held in autumn
The tournaments of Biscay, Navarre and Xilaba, the one that gathers the provinces of Labourd, Lower Navarre and Soule, were put off due to the pandemic. A schedule combining the three championships has been planned in order to make the follow-up of these competitions easier.

The association Bertsozale Elkartea will allocate 45,000 euros to promote bertso performances in pandemic times and to alleviate the vulnerable situation of creators.
28,500 students approaching the basis of bertsolaritza
The association Bertsozale Elkartea will offer bertsolaritza lessons in more than 400 centres thanks to its staff of 50 teachers. In recent years, a great progress has been made training teachers and creating teaching material.
Hitzetik Hortzera will be back on October 6
The television programme about bertsolaritza will begin a new season with TV presenter Eider Perez. It will be every Sunday, starting at 3pm, on ETB1.

The 18th edition of the Absolute Bertsolari Championship will be held in autumn 2022
It will start in Getxo on September 24 and will end on December 18, in Pamplona.
Bertsolaritza has been declared Intangible Heritage in the Basque Autonomous Community
Bertsolaritza is thus recognised as intangible cultural heritage to be safeguarded throughout its entire territory of origin, as it had already been recognised in Navarre and the Northern Basque Country.
