International improvisators tour, from the 9th to the 14th of October
The international improvisators tour Nazioarteko Inprobisatzaileen Bira has been carried out by Mintzola Ahozko Lantegia and Lanku Kultur Zerbitzuak. With the aim of promoting projects joining together bertsolaritza with other improvised verse singing arts, and make them known in the Basque Country and beyond, improvisators from Argentina, Cuba and the Basque Country will be on stage together from the 9th to the 14th of October.
The tour was presented yesterday in press conference in the Palace of the Condestable in Pamplona: Maider Beloki, the councillor of Culture and Education of the City of Pamplona, and Julio Soto, bertsolari who will participate in the tour, revealed the details of the project. Cuban and Argentinian improvisators Tomasita Quiala and Araceli Argüello will perform on stage along with the bertsolaris Amets Arzallus, Jone Uria, Julio Soto, Maialen Lujanbio and Xabi Igoa. Iker Iriarte and Maite Berriozabal will host the performances.
The local councils of Pamplona, Erandio, Hernani and Vitoria-Gasteiz have also participated in the organization of the event, as well as other entities: Euskal Kultur Erakundea, the Haizebegi Festival, Donostia Festak and Donostia Kultura. Besides, the project has the support of Donostia 2016, with the aim of promoting projects like the improvised verse singing meeting organised when Donostia-San Sebastian was renowned as European Capital of Culture.
